About Praise Church

Our Mission Statement

PPC strives to encourage one another to follow Jesus Christ and to invite others to Him.

The word encourage is often a translation of the Greek parakaleo which means "to be called alongside", or in other words, "to be with". Our basic task then is to imitate what God has already done and continues to do through the Holy Spirit (whom Jesus called the Holy Encourager). As the name Immanuel ("God with us") given to Jesus also reminds us, God chose to be with us and we also choose to be with one another as we strive together to work out our discipleship. This encouragement, however, is not limited to our own fellowship, but recognizes the responsibility to the larger community and world we live in. Our call is to walk alongside with those whom God has placed into our lives as we extend God’s gracious invitation to the feast he has prepared for us.

Our Vision Statement

The below statement represents the vision and direction of this congregation. These four points are what we are passionate about and believe God wants PPC to strive towards.

1. We envision a church where the worship of God and the exposition of Scripture remain central.

2. We envision a church that fosters an ethos of building relationships through small groups, accountability, discipleship, shared ministry, and deeper friendships.

3. We envision a church that proclaims Christ boldly and creatively, inviting and welcoming the unchurched, serving the local community, and participating in world missions.

4. We envision a church that will model "independent partnership" in the sharing of resources with the PPC KC.

Our Core Values

These eight values are what we consider to be essential or "core" to our community of faith. We are passionate about these core values and refer to them as a guideline and reminder of what we believe God has called us to live out as a congregation.

WORSHIP - Facilitating the heart-felt worship of God in spirit and truth in order that He would be glorified and His people would find complete satisfaction in Him.

SOUND TEACHING - Proclaiming and studying Scripture in both the Lord's Day and the small group setting with our conviction that all Scripture is the inspired Word of God, completely trustworthy and the authority for all matters of Christian faith and life.

PRAYER - Maintaining a humble posture of prayer both corporately and individually in order to experience the power of God in all facets of ministry and life.

OUTREACH - Living out God's Great Commission (as Christ has called us to be the salt and light of the world) to make disciples of all nations through the conveying of the gospel of Jesus Christ with integrity in personal evangelism and in the support of domestic and overseas missions through prayer and finances.

FELLOWSHIP - Belonging to one another as Christ has commanded through the Fellowship Group (Small Group) in order to share in honest-friendships and relationships that will foster accountability and intimacy within the larger group.

DISCIPLESHIP - Developing and teaching the importance of mentoring and one-on-one discipleship in order to become more like Christ.

STEWARDSHIP - Honoring God with our lives by understanding what it means to manage responsibly and also give generously, cheerfully and most importantly sacrificially of our talents, treasures and time.

MINISTRY EXCELLENCE - Striving for excellence in pastoral ministry, lay ministry, children's ministry, seeker ministry, music ministry, website ministry, etc. - essentially all PPC ministries.
